Wynn Las Vegas

Beautiful Floral Arrangements

Almost all of the hotels in Las Vegas have incredible displays of art, flowers, etc. However, some of them are just fantastic. Here are a few photos of them that we took last August.

They just hung in the trees as you walked through the lobby with twinkling lights. It was very ethereal.

If you stop to eat at the buffet, the floral/food arrangements were worth the price even if you didn't eat much, but in fact the buffet was very good.

The Badlands National Park and Mount Rushmore

June 26th, 2002 : The Badlands National Park, Wall Drug, Mitchell Corn Palace and Mt. Rushmore

My beautiful daughters and I
This trip began planning itself the summer of 2001. My husband and I had visited Europe with some wonderful friends of ours and we realized how much of the US we hadn't seen. I was determined to take the girls to see things I had always wanted to see and that are considered some of our nation's historic spots. After 9/11, I decided I wasn't going to make it happen in the future, I was going to do it then. My family all thought I was nuts...taking three girls, across the country driving by myself. But, I had always been called the road warrior in the family and I was looking forward to it. I spent months planning how far I could drive in a day, what we would see, where I would stay, etc.  Considering my youngest was six and my oldest was ten, it was quite the adventure, but they did great.

Heavenly Ski Resort

Hi there,

I'm new to blogging and I have to admit, until a few days ago, I hadn't even read many except when I was sent specific links. So, what am I doing here? Well, I was told blogging would be good for me. The problem I had was trying to figure out what to write about. I would be happy to talk about my three beautiful girls and all the stories I've accumulated with them over the years...but they might not like that. :)

Luckily, I do have some photographs and tidbits about traveling that don't involve ruining my kids' lives...well not too much anyway. Hopefully, I'll post a photo or share a story from somewhere you would like to go or maybe even one where you've been.

So, I guess that explains the traveling part of my blog name...as for the leprechaun part, it was just another hint to everyone who loves me that one day, I hope to get to Ireland.

I couldn't pick a favorite place to start with, so I chose one of my husband's favorite places in the world, Lake Tahoe, California.

These were taken on a relatively clear day, December 18th, 2012 and the snow was still clinging to the branches.
