Rivendell - Kaitoke Regional Park in Upper Hutt, New Zealand

There was a fantastic bridge in the park
September 22, 2009

I was allowed to tag along on a business trip to Wellington, New Zealand and Canberra, Australia.  There were a couple other wives on the trip and we had a fantastic time driving around the countryside while our better halves worked.

One of the places we visited was Kaitoke Regional Park. This is where some of the scenes for The Lord of the Rings were filmed. It was used as the basis for Rivendell.

The scenery was beautiful and I saw some of the most unique plant life I've ever come across.  The drive to the park was fascinating and serene.

There are really not enough words to describe how tranquil and gorgeous it was. Perhaps photos might show you a bit.
